Jon is an excellent trainer. He became my trainer when I was a junior in high school and stayed with me all throughout college. I played volleyball at a very high level and was the starting setter for USC women’s indoor volleyball. The skills and fundamentals Jon taught me in the gym helped me compete at a very high level as was as maintain a healthy body.
My speed, weight room positioning and agility was well beyond others within my program. He taught me how to safely lift, which I brought and carried with me throughout college. His ability to create programs built around the specific abilities that are needed per position/sport is incredible. He’s really professional about his work, and super responsive if you have any questions. He works hard and as a high level athlete, it was something I looked for in a trainer. Jon knew the standard I was trying to achieve and he helped me get there, and would be perfect for any high school, college or even professional athletes.

“I started working with Fussell in the summer of 2011. Upon my initial arrival I would describe myself as a mediocre athlete, that lacked explosiveness and power. I was able to get by, but I had always wondered what my true potential was. I was able to talk to Coach Fussell about my feelings, and he was extremely patient and kind towards my concerns. He worked to create a plan that would focus on a combination of resistance training to increase strength, and HIIT sessions to increase my cardio and all-around conditioning. I was only able to work with Fussell for approximately 1.5 years, but within that time my life completely changed; suddenly I had dropped almost 20 pounds while still increasing my muscle mass, I was able to increase my vertical by over 4 inches, and had transformed from an average player to a First Team All-American. Since this time I have worked with several different strength and conditioning coaches, including those in my professional career and through the Canadian National Team program. Not one of them has been able to get the results that Fussell got with me and made me feel as empowered and confident as both an athlete and an individual. Because of this, he is now the only strength and conditioning coach I will be working with, until my career is finished.”
