My Philosophy
My Mission
For Athletes: To help athletes achieve their goals, whether it be going from high school to college, college to pros or professional greatness.
For General Fitness: To guide former athletes transition to life after sports by giving them tools stay fit while working their job.
For Basketball Players: In addition to strength and conditioning, incorporate court drills to gain practical movement skills to maximize basketball performance.
Methodology Overview
I’ve taught more than 1000 athletes how to safely do powerlifting (deadlift, back squat & bench press) and weightlifting (clean & jerk, snatch). Many of the athletes had no previous experience with either. In addition, I teach proper and safe technique for free weight exercises in order to maximize results and reduce injuries. Lastly, I include exercises to strengthen and prevent joint injuries.
For movement training, I teach plyometrics, agility, first step explosiveness, speed work and conditioning. These skills transfer well to basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, tennis, etc. My expertise is teaching proper movement patterns to minimize injuries and maximize performance.
Methodology Specific
Every Athlete is Unique
*Every individual has unique movement patters. An athlete from same sport/same position may have completely different athletic strengths and weaknesses. The job of a strength coach is to identify these patterns and develop a complete athlete.

Each Workout is an Evaluation
*Each athlete must be evaluated, and workouts are then designed based on the athlete’s lifting skills. Every workout is an evaluation, and the athlete will progress at an aggressive, yet safe pace. Progressions of workouts will be modified according to individual needs.

Safe Technique is 1st Priority
*Athletes must perform all movements with safe technique. For every lift/movement, I focus on three components: 1) postural stability> specifically low back and core 2) balance> in every position, specifically through ankles when standing 3) mobility> range of motion of joints. Each component must be learned then mastered to decrease potential injuries. In addition, each workout is proceeded with an extensive warm up and concluded with proper regeneration techniques.

Produce More Force=Better Athlete
*Athletes with the ability to produce high levels of force generally excel at their sport. I teach the following concepts to obtain this goal: 1) ground based movements> most lifting/plyometric movements are performed with feet on the ground; furthermore, putting force through the ground with your feet is emphasized on explosive lifts 2) eccentric loading (downward movement) is stressed on all movements- how you go down will determine how you get up 3) concentric movement (upward movement)- coordination of total body when exploding up.

Where & How
Where I train clients
*I train clients in person in the West Los Angeles and South Bay areas at gyms, at homes, at apartment gyms or at park/basketball court.
*I train clients virtually via FaceTime or write programming for all sports.
How I introduce new clients
1) I give client a free phone evaluation to review goals, training background and relevant injury history
2) I give client 1 free in-person training session to observe client’s movement patterns by having them perform various exercises
3) Design and execute plan based on evaluation
